Carleton University, Steacie Labs

The new Steacie SuperLab at Carleton University was reconfigured by HOK Architects Corp., Toronto, Canada, turning their four existing 1960s chemistry labs into one 14,500 sqft collaborative laboratory space. The Steacie SuperLab has been awarded the 2009 R&D Magazine Laboratory of the Year Special Mention Award for consolidation and sustainability efforts.

San Jose Convention Center

Nearly 25 years after it opened, the San Jose Convention Center was in need of a creative renovation and expansion. Designers of the project were challenged to develop a solution that would reflect the Silicon Valley’s spirit of innovation.

Fashion Institute of Technology

Fashion Institute of Technology A-Labs Renovation project consisted of a 49,000 SF interior renovation of spaces dedicated to academic and administrative use. The renovation by SHoP Architects and Focus Lighting included reconfiguring existing kitchen spaces and classrooms into 15 state of the art laboratory and academic spaces.

Central Community College

The Central Community College Kearney Center is a response to the needs of Kearney and surrounding communities for an increase in career and technical education programs and training to meet the needs of a growing workforce and community.

Wintrust Financial Corporation

Wintrust Financial Corporation, chose VOA Associates Architects to design their new 11-story headquarters in the Chicago suburbs. aA-Light’s D6 | accolade6 recessed luminaires were incorporated into the fitness center in short 6ft lengths with a beveled smooth flange.

Main Street Station

A need for urban revitalization and increased ridership necessitated expansion of the station built for the Expo86. Expansion included renovation of the existing entrance and platforms and addition of a new entrance and 87m long connector suspended above the street.

Love Field

Dallas Love Field was originally designed in 1958 by Corgan Architects. Today, now noted for its airport designs, Corgan has also been charged with the current renovation, accompanied by lighting designer Pam Wilson and The Lighting Practice.
