Fashion Institute of Technology A-Labs Renovation project consisted of a 49,000 SF interior renovation of spaces dedicated to academic and administrative use. The renovation by SHoP Architects and Focus Lighting included reconfiguring existing kitchen spaces and classrooms into 15 state of the art laboratory and academic spaces.

Throughout, A-Light's D3 | accolade3 fixture was utilized in both classrooms and hallways, with some D5 | accolade5 recessed into gyp ceilings. D3 4ft and 8ft were placed perpendicular along corridors, some end-to-end to create a visible seam. Other D3 variations include long linear rows in classrooms above laboratory facilities, art rooms and technical equipment spaces. The D3 fixtures were suspended between floating acoustic panels and leveled flush to form a recessed appearance.
