A-Light Wins Two GOOD DESIGN® Awards
Oceanside, CA, January 20, 2022 – A-Light (www.alights.com), an established best-in-class manufacturer of specification grade interior lighting solutions, is pleased to announce its Aloft and Align luminaires have each won a GOOD DESIGN® Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
Each year, The Chicago Athenaeum presents the GOOD DESIGN® Awards Program for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced worldwide. Launched in 1950, GOOD DESIGN® is the oldest and the most prestigious Awards Program organized worldwide. In 2021, several thousand submissions from over 55 countries were judged by an international jury of design experts across multiple disciplines.
Aloft is a low-profile, tubular luminaire system developed to allow designers to create unique lighting environments. By manipulating a horizontal rotation of 200°, Aloft can be shaped in countless ways and locked in place to create the desired design. An easily re-configurable endcap and 360° rotation joiner structure enable full control of the light's direction. Installation and onsite adjustments are simplified with an innovative plug-and-play connection system that clicks sections together with ease.
Align is a magnetic, module-based architectural lighting system that can be recessed, surface mounted or suspended. And these mounting types can be interchanged for complex lighting designs across ceilings, walls and around corners. Multiple magnetic modules and mounting options, combined with tool-free installation and removal capabilities, provide the opportunity to create endless mix and match direct and indirect configurations. Its sleek, clean design seamlessly integrates into any architecture.
Since their introductions, both luminaires have received multiple awards, including the 2020 LIT Lighting Design Award and the 2021 Red Dot Award for Lighting Design.
